Houston Cougars Won the ‘Game of the Century’ 50 Years Ago

We look back on the 50th anniversary of the Game of the Century when UH defeated UCLA on January 20th 1968 in the Astrodome. Over the years on our show, we reminisced about the game, the atmosphere & the man behind it all, Cougars Head Coach & Naismith Hall of Famer Guy V. Lewis.

You’ll hear past interviews from UH Legend Don Chaney, Houston Post & Chronicle sports writer & editor Mickey Herksowitz (who covered the game), Chronicle Cougars beat writer Joseph Duarte and Robert Jacobus, who wrote the book “Houston Cougars in the 1960’s: Death Threats, the Veer Offense & the Game of the Century”.
