Texans offense Faces Much Sterner Test Against Broncos

The much-maligned Texans offense led by Brock Osweiler finally got it going last week after 3 & a half quarters.  There were some positive signs from star offseason acquisition Lamar Miller who rushed for 149 yards and a

Brock Osweilertouchdown, along with 29 receiving yards and a TD.

However, this week they face the Super Bowl champs & Osweiler’s old team, the Denver Broncos, and that fierce defense.

The Texans simply can’t rely on a comeback victory against the Broncos because  they aren’t in that type of offensive rhythm. The key for the Texans is a quick start & to force the Broncos to throw the football, something both Trevor Siemian & Paxton Lynch have failed to do well over the last few games.

Lamar Miller can expect to be under some serious pressure from the Broncos defense led my Von Miller.  Miller needs to be smart enough to let running lanes develop before jumping the gun.

Texans DeAndre HopkinsWhile the Broncos secondary is elite, the combination of Will Fuller & Deandre Hopkins is good enough to keep them honest, meaning this game will likely be won at the line of scrimmage.

It just so happens the Broncos lead the league in sacks & have 3 players with 4 sacks or more and a top 5 defense.

The Brock Osweiler that showed up in the fourth quarter against the Colts showed poise and played with the sense of urgency required to move the ball down the field. Whether they’re being battered or beaten, Osweiler needs to make sure they stay focused.  As good as the Broncos are, the Texans are not likely to be out of it come the 4th quarter.  The Denver offense under Simeon is nothing special right now.

Can Osweiler lead the Texans into Mile High & leave with a win?
